CBS Students Clinch First RunnerUp at STEM Playground Grand Finale
Our talented Secondary 2 students showcased their innovative spirit at the STEM Playground Grand Finale held at the Science Center on November 14, 2024, securing the First Runner-Up position in an intense competition that tested their creativity and engineering skills.
The team of four students from 2 Empathy - Natalie Ng Jiaxuan, Lim Shao Xuan, Tasneem Begum Binte Eshak Alli, and Liang Shunshun - rose to the challenge of creating a cardboard automata within a demanding 90-minute timeframe. Under the guidance of teachers Ms. Huiyi and Ms. Olivia Ho, the students demonstrated exceptional problem-solving abilities and teamwork.
The competition required participants to construct their automata using only provided materials, transforming simple cardboard into dynamic mechanical displays. Teams chose from various themes including City, Playground, Ocean, Amusement Park, Outer Space, and Forest, complementing their creations with original storytelling.
Their success reflects not only their dedication during training sessions but also their initiative in independently refining their designs during the post-exam period. This achievement stands as a testament to our school's commitment to nurturing STEM excellence and creative thinking.
