Post-Examination Programmes for Secondary 1
The Secondary 1 students had the opportunity to participate in a wide spectrum of activities organised for them from 17 to 24 October 2019, ranging from Aesthetics to Sports and Internet Cyberwellness to bring about their holistic development.
Through these activities, students get to foster stronger bonds with their classmates , as well as their cohort mates. It was also a great platform for them to let their hair down and find out more about each other as well as their hidden talents.
Students also had the chance to build their own "Heart Terrarium", a surprise gratitude gift for their parents to thank them for their support throughout the year.
All in all, it was an enriching post-examination programme whereby students work together in synergy, to learn and grow together as a cohort.
Visit to Orange Valley SAC & Sun Love SAC
On the 14 Nov, the Student Councillors came together to plan a memorable activity session for the elderly folks at Orange Valley SAC and Sun Love SAC. They sang together class songs, performed short dance routines, played bingo and had simple arts and crafts. Amidst all the cheer and laughter, our Student Councillors felt truly blessed to be able to bring such joy to our seniors.
GCE 'N' Level Results
Our 2019 graduating students of 4NA and 4NT came back on 19 December 2019 to receive their GCE 'N' Levels results.
Our graduands have lived up to the cohort motto "Soaring New Heights" by excelling in the national examinations with historic best results. They achieved an overall improvement in all subjects and higher passing rate compared to national level, with 9 Subjects in NA level scoring 100% pass rate.
All 4NT students were eligible to further their education at ITE and 87.8% of our 4NA students were eligible to pursue GCE 'O' Level education, which is above the national level of 77%. These students are also eligible for the Direct Entry Scheme to Polytechnic Programme(DPP).
Congratulations! We are proud of you, GRC Canberrans.
Total Defence Day
On 15 February 2019, our school commemorated Total Defence Day. This is to remind staff and students when Singapore fell into the hands of Japanese on 15 February 1942 and of what could happen to us if we cannot defend Singapore ourselves, and to strengthen our resolve to keep Singapore safe, secure, and sovereign. The theme for 2019's Total Defence campaign - "Together We Keep Singapore Strong" - focuses on the many ways we can put Total Defence into action in our everyday lives.
